Investing in future African scientists starts with creating opportunities.
Today, Dr. Corine Ngufor, Executive Director of the African Institute for Research in Infectious Diseases (AIRID), officially presented support funds to the first two beneficiaries of the AIRID AFRICA-WISE Fund — Ms Jannette Koumba Tolno and Ms Nambole CADJA.
This initiative was created to support young women pursuing studies in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics across Africa, with this first cohort focused on female students enrolled in public universities in Benin.
Meeting Jannette and Nambole and hearing about their ambitions was a powerful reminder that Africa’s future in science, research, and innovation depends on investing in talented young women today.
